One month in!

It seems unreal that we've been homeowners for almost a month now. It's been so fun, crazy busy, and seriously EXHAUSTING! This living in two places thing is for the birds. We've got lots of work to still do, but we've made some big moves in the last 4 weeks.

1. We got our keys! It's officially ours, and to celebrate we indulged in some porch sitting,  design dreaming, and too much pumpkin ice cream at Lite N' up... its seriously amazing
I still can't believe we live here!!

2. We got started with some updates right away. The dining room was... not our style, so it was the first to go. We painted over the red on red stripes a happy yellow. We're definitely looking forward to hosting lots of parties in that room, it's a perfect space. We also painted the living room, removed the wallpaper in the powder room and upstairs bathroom, and rejuvinated the floors upstairs. The product is pretty cool, it's a 2 step process and brightens up dull floors really quickly. I read about it on younghouselove, and it did not disappoint.

loving the primer!

3. The biggest update is the kitchen! We removed all the cabinets the first weekend and the following Friday my dad came to tear down the wall. It's such a huge change and makes us really excited to see our plans come to life. We played around with a kitchen layout, purchased our cabinets, and are waiting to hire a contractor to put it all together. I seriously can't wait!!! Once the kitchen's done (or close to it), we'll be moving in!! The time can't come soon enough.

mid kitchen tear down = hardest day of my life

That's it for now, keep you posted when we have a Contractor on board!!

Welcome to the Lav!

our new home!

Lavender Hill- our new home
Life at Lavender Hill- a blog to keep track of whats going on there

We buy our first house next week, and I literally could not be more excited! We started our house hunting journey 2 months ago, and haven't looked back. After what would be considered a relatively easy process, we got the call on June 22 that our offer was accepted and the house could be ours. After inspections, reports, surveys, and mortgage underwriting, we close on August 28.

Sometimes I still don't believe that this is going to be ours, but I can't wait to put our touch on it. It's a home we want to grow up and grow in too, and can't wait for it to start. I have tons of plans (and seem to change my mind on a daily basis) for the Lav and can't wait to share them on this blog.

Wish us luck next week as we start this journey into homeownership!
